Pumpkin Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting

Do NOT make these pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting if you struggle with dessert and self control. This pumpkin bars recipe is so easy, and you’ll lick the pan completely clean. It’s that good.

I tried this recipe last year and my, oh, my, it is so good. It’s one that we are adding to our family favorites for here on out. If you ask me to bring a dessert during fall, chances are pretty darn good that this is the one I will show up with. These pumpkin bars and cream cheese frosting are divine.

How to make pumpkin bars

This pumpkin bar recipe is fairly easy and straight forward. You’ll want to gather your ingredients. Most are basic baking ingredients. Just make sure you have a can of pumpkin. Preheat your oven & cream the sugar and butter together. Once you have done that, add the rest of the ingredients, according to the recipe. Bake until a toothpick comes out clean from the center. Cool the bars, & then frost!

How to make the frosting

This frosting is one of the only frostings that I will eat without scraping it off. It is so yummy! If it seems a little thick, you can add a tiny bit of milk to it to get it to the right consistency. If it seems too runny, add a little extra powdered sugar. Be sure to let the pumpkin bars cool before frosting.

I am convinced that these stainless steel serving spatulas are the way to go when it comes to dishing dessert.
