Brandon Turned 29
This month Brandon turned 29! WHAT?! Can’t believe he’s almost dirty 30, basically an olllld man 😉
Camden helped Frost the Cake:
Usually Brandon asks for Funfetti Cake, but for some reason he decided to let me actual bake him a real cake. This is kind of a big deal. The guy loves Funfetti 😉
If you haven’t tried this super easy chocolate cake, you need to. It’s really hard to mess up and it’s delicious. If you like chocolate, it’s worth giving it a try. The Six Sister’s have got your back. I didn’t make the frosting, I just bought a store bought Chocolate Fudge one – I’m sure it’s that much better with their homemade version.
Simple Ideas to Make Birthdays Special
I am huge into festivities. Something about coming up with creative ways to celebrate, it’s just something I have always loved doing. Here are some simple ways we decided to celebrate B’s 29th birthday.
I found this tee and thought it was a fun way to celebrate him turning 29. They pretty much have one for every year, and different styles. Just have fun shopping around.
Last Year of Your 20’s Gift Idea
SUPPLIES:
- Cash – in $20 dollar bills
- Cash Envelopes
- Tape
- Paper Bag
- Tissue Paper
- Permanent Marker
- Foil Balloons
I thought this was a super clever and funny way to give him a gift of cash. Check out these cash envelopes I found, and just taped them together. I folded them up in an accordion-style fold and put them in a simple brown paper kraft bag with some tissue paper and these small 29 balloons.
Funny story about these 20 dollar bills. I forgot my debit card, had zero cash on me, and Brandon couldn’t remember his pin number for his debit card. We were out of town so I ‘stole’ some $20’s from my mother-in-law. Thank goodness she had some on hand, and thank goodness for Venmo.
29 Things We Love About You Poster
I had the kiddos help make him a “29 Things I Love About You Poster. It was super simple. We {Tylee, mainly!!! – thanks girlfriend} just cut out letters & numbers from different card stock paper.
I really like the Kraft paper look, but you can use whatever you have on hand.
For the poster, we used this kind of paper. It has come in handy SO many different times for many different occasions. We’ve had it for a few years {thanks Poppa G!} and are finally running out. We will definitely be getting another roll.
As you can see, 29 was a simple birthday.
We went to dinner at one of his favorite Mexican restaurants and he got to take Tylee skiing for the first time, but we sure do love this guy more than any other. He is really one of a kind and I am so lucky, and blessed to get to call him mine.
Happy Birthday Babe! Already looking forward to your “dirty 30 ;)”
XO,
Camille
