Christmas time is one of our family’s favorite seasons of the year. Along with so many others, we love being cozy with our family and creating memories. These Christmas Advent Activities are the perfect ideas for any family to add to their holiday calendar.

  1. Gingerbread Houses or do an entire village. I’ve seen cute ideas all over {Walmart, Target, Sams Club..}
  2. Snowball fight – we don’t get a lot of snow so we have these snowballs and it’s a blast. Only I got hit in the eyeball once, and that wasn’t too pleasant 😅
  3. Hot Cocoa Bar – spice this up with all different kinds of ideas. A Pinterest search will spark some fun ideas. I’ll share ours in the next few days. Tune into @lifeasagriffin on Instagram to see.
  4. Elf-athon – One of my favorite ideas ever because I came up with the idea. We sit in front of the tv, watch elf, and eat breakfast for dinner. You can see details here!
  1. Christmas Puzzle – there are so many cute puzzles out there. Here is the one I got for this year. I also found this puzzle board where you can work on the puzzle.
  2. Family Game NightThis is the newest game that I got and we have been LOVING it!!
  3. Pick out new ornaments – each year it has been super fun to find a new ornament that is specifically for each person for that year. Search Etsy for things you have been loving for the year and you’ll be sure to find something cute and personalized.

  1. Write Letters to Santa – you can find all sorts of cute stationary to write all your wishes on. I found some at the Dollar Spot in Target a year ago and we are just using those again.
  1. Our Kind of Christmas Random Acts of Kindness – this has become one of my very favorite Christmas traditions.
  2. Holiday Sleepover in the living room
  3. String oranges & cranberries check out how did this. It’s super easy.
  4. Snow Sensory Bins – there are a lot of ways you can do this, but we love this snow. Best part is you can reuse it as long as it doesn’t get dirty. Also these resin letters are some of my favorite.
  5. Make Hot Cocoa Bombs – I’ve actually never done this, but we will share our process on Insta.
  6. Polar Express Night – Make a fun train to sit in, grab some treats and watch the Polar Express
  7. Go see Christmas Lights
  8. Light the World – Every year you can join in on an incredible experience and help ‘light the world’ by doing kind deeds every day for the month of December. Text ‘Light’ to 71234 to get daily prompts.
  9. Make Christmas Cards: Holiday cards are so much fun. And it is so fun to get homemade ones, especially from kids. Start these early and they can make them for all their extended family.

  11. Bake Cookies
  12. New Holiday Book: These are the picks for this year. Camille, Tylee, Camden, Abigayle, Lincoln
  13. Homemade Christmas Playdoh
  14. Nativity: Act out the nativity
  15. Holiday Pajamas
  16. Gingerbread Day: Do everything gingerbread related – read the gingerbread man, make gingerbread cookies, decorate gingerbread houses.
