Valentine’s Day Gift Idea

Flowers are such an easy go-to when it comes to Valentines Day Gift Ideas. And you can never go wrong with giving them as a way to say, “thinking of you”, or “I love & appreciate you”. But if you are like me, sometimes flowers can seem like a waste of money, especially, when you’re trying to save for something, or in a financial bind. This DIY Valentine’s Day edible flower bouquet gift idea is simple. It’s easy to put together. And everyone will love it because it doubles as a yummy treat. It’s a win-win in my book.

Valentines Day Gift Idea: Edible Flower Bouquet

How to Assemble

Simply get some fresh strawberries from your local grocery store. Grab some chocolate to melt {I love GHIRARDELLI Milk chocolate chips}. Pick up some skewers – I just use the bbq grill kind. And get some kind of kraft paper, like recycled paper. The paper I used in this photo is from children craft roll paper for arts and crafts. Because you can find this type of paper almost anywhere – it makes it even better. The dollar store usually has a decent selection.

First, melt your chocolate and wash strawberries. Second, put your washed and prepped strawberries on the skewer, and dip in the chocolate. Make sure to do 12 so that you have a dozen. Third, use the butcher paper or craft paper to wrap the strawberries around the skewers and place them in an inexpensive vase or cup, or just use the paper alone. I grabbed a glass cup from our cupboard and used it. I mean, we were keeping the gift in the family. Finally, just tie it up with a pretty ribbon and a handwritten note. It makes the perfect Valentine’s Day gift idea – who doesn’t love chocolate-covered strawberries?!
